In the park and on the streets

A Jazz Quartet welcomes the groups who make their way into Washington Square Park

This was a first for me.  A pianist with his baby grand Steinway, sitting on a bucket (with extra buckets for collecting donations), playing the most beautiful music.  The girls danced, clearly happy to spend a lovely afternoon in harmony with the musician.

Daisy....the Pug.  Enjoying the sounds of the Steinway, even from his....yes,his, perch on the bench in the dog park.

The young women are pounding the pavement in barely there sandles and flats.

These boots are made for walkin'.  Boots, short or tall, are everywhere.  In Soho it's business as usual.

A perfect day in NYC

After wandering through Chelsea Market, we strolled the Highline, ate lunch at Pastis and shopped at Mxyplyzyk, one of our favorite little stores.

As soon as the first drops of rain come down, men selling umbrellas magically appear on every street corner.  Undaunted, we waded across Spring street to Dean and Deluca for coffee, peanut butter cookies, chocolate covered shortbread and macaroons.  There has to be some payoff for walking 20 blocks.

Time for a bit more shopping in Soho and then it's a dash uptown to meet dear friend from Miss Saigon days, David Lober.  He is a a gem.  But I didn't get a photo!  Had a lovely dinner with him in the theatre district where he's rehearsing a new show, before heading back to Brooklyn on the F train.  Got off the subway and stopped at the Korean deli to buy fruit and ice cream.....of course, and walked two short blocks to our beautiful Brooklyn apartment.  Thank you Erin and Sarah for letting us housesit for you while you are in Thailand.
